A lot of artists seem to have it in their minds that it's up to everyone else to get the business handled, which in a way this is true and it is also best so the artist can focus on what they do best.
At the same time it is also wise of them to take the time out to get themselves in the loop of the business end of things so that they are aware of things going on the good the bad the ugly of the business so when and if there's every a problem the artist will know right away and also be able to give the input on what happens next , the solving of the issue and the after math of that issue etc.
Also for when and if the professionals ever drop the ball because it does happen and if you know about everything going on you will know how to get that ball picked back up and fix it or hire someone else.
Not knowing when the ball has been dropped can lead to things continuing to go wrong for so long there is no fixing the issue.
So be involved as much as you can always get your copies of everything always get dates , amounts lists etc. therefore you are prepared for anything that goes wrong on the business's end which can ultimately make or break you.
